Waste disposal and environmental Regulations

Sustainable development and take-back of old equipment

The company informs customers that certain substances contained in electrical and electronic equipment may have potentially harmful effects on the environment and human health. For this reason, customers should dispose of their used electrical and electronic equipment at a specially designated collection point: materials collection point, municipal recycling centre, recycling workshops run by non-profit associations (e.g. Bundesverband Lebenshilfe e. V.).

The following symbol on your item means that it is an electrical or electronic appliance to be recycled when you no longer use it.

In application of the European Regulation of 2005 (2002/95 / EC and 2002/96 / EC), which applies to all European countries and in particular to Germany, all electrical and electronic equipment at the end of its service life that is obsolete or no longer functioning may not be thrown into the rubbish or into the recycling bins of the local authority (cf. § 10 para. 1 p. 2 Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act).

This ordinance aims to limit the waste of raw materials and to protect the environment and human health by avoiding the dispersion in nature of substances contained in certain appliances.

For this reason, customers are advised to deposit any waste product at a designated collection point: Collection point, municipal waste collection centre, recycling workshops of non-profit associations (Bundesverband Lebenshilfe e. V.).

§ Section 10 (1) sentence 2 of the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act and Section 11 (2) of the German Battery Act require the customer as the owner of the batteries to remove the battery(ies) contained in the product, if any, from the product and to deposit them separately at the designated collection points.

In addition, WMF undertakes to take back the old customer item purchased online free of charge.

Thus, when purchasing a new item, you can return the used item to us for recycling free of charge.

To do so, please contact us via the contact form within 4 days after the purchase.
