Peach Iced Tea

Ingredients

4 People
  • 5 Peaches (approx. 500 g)
  • 1.25 l Water
  • 4 Pkg. black tea
  • 4 tbsp. Sugar
  • 1 tbsp. Lemon juice
  • 4 Sprigs of fresh mint
  • Ice cubes
  • 2 Peaches to garnish

Preparation

Step 1
For optimum cooling, prepare ice cubes in a container or ice cube bag and freeze. Then wash the peaches thoroughly, remove the stones and cut into wedges. Bring them to boil with 250 ml of water and the sugar in a pan and simmer over a medium heat for about ten minutes. Pour the syrup through a sieve into a bowl, reserve the peaches and leave everything to cool.

Step 2
Then bring the water to boil and add 500 ml of boiling water and lemon juice to the tea bags. Leave the black tea to infuse for about three to four minutes. Remove the bag after the desired infusion time and leave the tea to cool.

Step 3
Place the cooled peach slices together with the ice cubes in a large (thermos) jug with a capacity of at least 1.5 litres. Then add the cooled tea with cool peach syrup and pour in 500 ml of cold water.
Step 4
To garnish, wash two peaches, remove the stones and cut into wedges. Put 4 of them to one side, divide the rest between four glasses. Wash the fresh mint and place a sprig in each glass. Pour over the iced tea, place the peach wedge on the rim of the glass and serve ice cold.
